Podcasts: Our List of The Best Psychedelic & Transformative Podcasts.

Updated: Dec 13, 2023

Here are our picks for the best psychedelic and transformative podcasts so far. The list will be regularly updated.

A great one from the Psychedelic Podcast series. Bessel Van der Kolk has many decades in the therapy field and is also famous for his work with MAPS and books like "The Body Keeps the Score". On the show they discuss Bessel’s work with MDMA therapy for trauma and dispel the myth that PTSD is only something experienced by soldiers returning from war, and discuss how early attachment wounds can actually be more intractable to traditional treatment than acute trauma. They talk about why we get addicted to our own trauma and we review other psychedelic compounds like ketamine and ayahuasca. This is one of our favorites and especially the section where Van der Kolk refers to activation of your self healing mechanism.

Psychedelics Today interviews Bessel van der Kolk, MD: pioneer clinician, researcher, and educator on traumatic stress; Founder of the Trauma Research Foundation; Professor of Psychiatry at Boston University Medical School; Principal Investigator of the Boston site of MAPS’ MDMA-assisted psychotherapy study; and author of the #1 New York Times Science best seller, The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Treatment of Trauma.

Joe at Psychedelic Today interviews Gina Gratza, MS, LMFT: Portland, Oregon-based research therapist and educator at InnerTrek, a psilocybin facilitator training program. She discusses MDMA, Burning Man, therapy, psilocybin, and more. We find it very insightful and inline with our therapeutic integration approch.

Saj Razvi (Psychedelic Somatic Institute): A Somatic Approach to Psychedelic Healing

From the Psychedelic Therapy Podcast series. Our foundation at The Journey lies in somatic therapy therefore we syched deeply with this work and approach. We open with an understanding of how trauma is stored in the body, and why it can be so hard to overcome with traditional therapy. We then discuss the difference between primary and secondary consciousness, and how psychedelics play a role in disrupting the default mode network to heal trauma. Finally, we talk about the Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapy (PSIP) model that Saj and his team are successfully utilizing at the Psychedelic Somatic Institute.
